Ian Liddel-Grainger
Chairman
Ian Liddell-Grainger brings three decades at the apex of public service and international governance to The Carbon Foundation. ​
A former UK Member of Parliament (2001–2024), he most recently served as Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Executive Committee (2022–2024), the body linking ~180 parliaments and legislatures across the Commonwealth. ​
His track record spans energy policy, infrastructure oversight and cross-border institution building experience he now channels into accelerating high-integrity, compliance-grade carbon markets at global scale
Daniel Rodwell
Founder and CEO
aniel is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur and strategist with 15+ years of experience building regulated financial and climate-tech platforms. He founded UQG Limited, scaling it across four jurisdictions with 1000% revenue growth in 2024.
At The Carbon Foundation, Daniel leads sovereign partnerships, carbon registry infrastructure, and institutional strategy.
A national blockchain advisor and former MIT admit, he is shaping the future of high-integrity, compliance-grade carbon markets across the globe.
David Crammond
Chief Commercial Officer
David Crammond is a cross-border capital-markets leader who has built and led businesses on four continents across structured credit, derivatives and carbon finance.

He served as President & CEO of Intercapital (ICAP) USA, built global credit-derivatives, energy and EM bond desks, and contributed to early ISDA CDS documentation experience that now powers our financing architecture for high-integrity climate assets.
​
He held senior roles at CIBC in London and New York, where he rebuilt trading franchises and managed multi-billion exposures, at ABN AMRO launching APAC and US structured-products platforms that executed >$6bn of transactions and at MARKIT he established the Asian offices from Singapore covering the Austrasia region.
A.J. Merrifield
Chief Operating Officer
A.J. Merrifield is a U.S. military veteran and former senior executive with Fortune 500 companies, including logistics management at Amazon. ​
With a deep background in logistics, finance, and large-scale operations, he specialises in turning complex systems into high-performing, scalable frameworks. A trusted advisor to several nonprofit boards supporting Veterans and underserved communities, A.J. brings mission-driven leadership to every endeavour. ​
As Chief Operating Officer of The Carbon Foundation, he leads global operations across four jurisdictions—ensuring the seamless delivery of infrastructure, compliance, and platform support essential to the growth of sovereign-authorised carbon markets.
